On Wednesday, January 10, over 175 freshmen joined one another in an evening of activity, prayer, and feasting. The Freshmen Day of Recollection, Restless, began with a competitive homeroom dodgeball tournament. Cheers and screams filled the AAC as chants broke out as students encouraged their teammates in the dodgeball tournament. Not only was this tournament an opportunity to have fun and compete, but also it afforded students the opportunity to strengthen friendships.

Following this animated competition was a time for students to relax and pray, as everyone joined together in Eucharistic Adoration. The students were moved by Mr. Griffin’s personal witness, as he shared a story about his grandfather, who at the time of the story was very ill, requesting to go home and be with Jesus in heaven and how Jesus would welcome him, just as Jesus was welcoming all of the students as they prayed in the presence of the Eucharist. The students were then brought to great joy as Mr. Foley announced it was time for the final portion of the night, the dining portion.

To end the night, the freshmen were brought together to eat a nice meal together. This time of dining allowed them to talk about the night and once again strengthen friendships as well as build new ones.
Overall, the Freshmen Evening of Recollection was a huge success, as many freshmen came together for an evening of recreation, prayer, and dining. The freshmen will surely remember this night, as it allowed them to develop the important bonds of friendship and faith.
