2022 Fall Sports Recap

Crew—The team had a tough race schedule, competing against schools that are likely to be contenders for the national championships. The Flyers’ top boats were able to finish races within seconds of these nationally-ranked teams, while the 4th, 5th, and 6th varsity boats were able to defeat other schools’ top boats.

Cross Country—Varsity placed 2nd in the league, 3rd in the CHSAA, and 20th in States. Patrick Mulryan ’23 and Jack Higgins ’23 earned first-team all-league in the CHSAA. The freshmen team, meanwhile, won the league and placed 2nd in the CHSAA.

Football—Varsity went on a 4-game winning streak, highlighted by a 10-7 win over the formidable Titans of Holy Trinity High School. The team made the playoffs as the #4 seed, beating Kellenberg Memorial High School on the final play to make it into the semifinals of the AAA for the first time since 2013.

Freshman Swimming & Diving—The team completed a successful season, going undefeated in dual meets and securing a 1st-place finish at the championship meet. Congratulations to the entire team and to James Darcy ’26, who was awarded the team’s MVP.

Soccer—Varsity won the Delbarton Invitational Tournament, beating Notre Dame High School and the nationally-ranked Delbarton School in the opening season tournament. They then went on to compete against #1 and #2 in the nation, St. Benedict’s Prep and St. Ignatius High School of Ohio. The high-level, non-league schedule helped the team go undefeated in the league and be named co-regular season champs. They lost in a highly contested league final, 1-0.
