Feast of the Immaculate Conception

This Saturday, December 8th marks the Feast of the Immaculate Conception. This special day celebrates the conception of the Virgin Mary free from original sin by virtue of her son Jesus. All students are encouraged to attend Mass tomorrow in honor of our Blessed Mother.

 

Sounds of the Christmas Season

This past week, members of the various music programs here at Chaminade had extended rehearsals in preparation for the upcoming student and Christmas concerts. On Wednesday, December 12th, students will watch the concert during a morning assembly schedule. On Friday, December 14th, the Flyers Band, String Orchestra, Crimson Band, and Crimson Glee Club will perform from 7:30-9:15 PM in Darby Auditorium. At the same time on Saturday, the Gold Band and Gold Glee Club will perform. All members of the Chaminade family are welcome to attend. Tickets can be purchased here.

Calling all Actors, Singers, and Dancers!

This Monday, December 10th, the Drama Club will host vocal auditions for their upcoming spring production of Into the Woods. There will be dance auditions on Tuesday and call backs on Wednesday. Students should prepare a musical selection, fill out the audition form, and read the rehearsal schedule to inform Mr. Michael Bruno of any conflicts. Advent Prayer Service

This morning, students watched an Advent video and then moved to the Activity-Athletic Center to hear General Peter Pace speak. General Pace, a forty-year Marine Corp veteran served as the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff under President George W. Bush.

Speech and Debate Princeton Tournament

This past weekend, members of the Chaminade Speech and Debate team traveled to Princeton, New Jersey for the annual Princeton Classic. Despite the tough competition, Sean Lochner ‘19 and Peter Vouthas ‘20 advanced to run-off rounds in Varsity Lincoln-Douglas Debate. Sophomore Michael Bellia worked his way to quarterfinals in extemporaneous speaking. In addition sophomores Evan Fiscella and Kenneth Farry advanced to Octafinals in Novice Lincoln Douglas. Finally, freshman Liam McLaughlin advanced to run-offs in Novice Lincoln-Douglas Debate. This weekend, the team is competing in another tournament at Ridge High School.
