3 Up

Racing for the Finish Line

The varsity swimming and diving team fared well over the course of the regular season, finishing with a record of 7-1.

This upcoming weekend (February 10 and 11) the team looks to defend its 2017 title at the CHSAA City Championships at Eisenhower Park. The team has worked through countless practices over the last several months in its effort to secure the championship for the second consecutive year.

Progress Grades/Interview Night

Progress reports for the second trimester will be posted tomorrow morning (February 10).

Hopefully, they will arrive bearing good news. If not, students and their parents are reminded that Parent-Student-Teacher Interview Night is scheduled for Thursday (February 15) at 7 p.m.

What’s Your Resolution?

Next Wednesday (February 14) marks the official start of Lent. To celebrate Ash Wednesday, Eucharistic ministers will travel to each homeroom to distribute ashes and prayer cards to each member of the student body.

Two days later (February 16), a Lenten prayer service for the entire student body will be held in the AAC.

3 Down

Halfway to a Hundo

The varsity bowling team entered the playoffs riding a 48-match winning streak. Each bowler was well aware that victories in both the semifinals and finals would have extended the run to 50.

Quelling these nerves, the team rolled through the semifinals before shutting out St. Mary’s in the finals by a score of 9-0. Congrats to the keglers on their seventh consecutive league title and extending “The Streak” to new limits!

Off to a Flying Start

After a hard-fought regular season, the varsity hockey team came out skating against Fordham Prep in their first playoff game.

The Flyers opened the postseason on the road last night (February 8), winning by a final score of 3-2. Chaminade again skates against Fordham Prep at 8:00 p.m. tomorrow (Saturday)  at Cantiague Park.

Still Flying High

As the regular season comes to a close, the varsity basketball team is finishing in style. The team recently defeated league opponent St. Dominic this past Tuesday (February 6) by a score of 80-48.

The Flyers will hit the road tonight (February 9), traveling to Kellenberg Memorial High School for a 7:30 p.m. tipoff.
