Then juniors and seniors will head down to Darby Auditorium for the service, which will include videos, a performance by the glee club, and stage presentations. The theme is to “fear not.” Once the first presentation is finished, freshmen and sophomores will proceed to Darby for their viewing.

3 Down:

Varsity Swimming vs Msgr. Farrell (November 27)

This past Monday (November 27), the varsity swimming and diving team competed in their second duel meet of the season. This contest was supposed to be the team’s first test of the season, but was rescheduled due to travel issues. Nonetheless, the Flyers swam well, with state-qualifying times posted by Nikolas Daly ’19 in the 100-yard breaststroke and Christian Sztolcman ’18 in the 50-yard freestyle.

Reconciliation (November 27 and 28)

This week, during their science periods, students had the opportunity to attend confession at the start of the Advent season. Students gathered in Darby Auditorium for a short prayer service, followed by the option of attending confession with one of multiple priests from all over Long Island who had traveled to Chaminade and congregated in the library to meet with students. The event served a time for the Chaminade community to reflect and prepare our hearts for the birth of Jesus at the start of Christmas season.

Christmas Tree Decorations and GSO Toy Drive (November 29)

It’s the most wonderful time of the year, as the Flyers decorated their homerooms’ Christmas trees with ornaments, lights, and linens in homeroom on Wednesday morning (November 29). The ETV crew traveled from homeroom to homeroom to document the festivities on the TVs in each homeroom. Classic Christmas music played in the background as students watched themselves on the screen in homeroom.
