Show Me The Money!
Does FAFSA really stand for “Financial Advice For Students Andtheirparents?” Find out this Tuesday, October 3rd, when members of the class of 2018 and their parents are invited to a financial aid presentation at 7:30 p.m. in Darby Auditorium. With the cost of attending college rising ever higher, it is important for nearly everyone to have a complete knowledge of the financial aid system as they begin the process of selecting the school where they will spend their next four years.
Cross Country Dual Meet vs. St. Anthony’s
The rivalry continues! This upcoming Wednesday, October 4th, Chaminade’s varsity, JV, and freshman cross country teams are racing the St. Anthony’s Friars in a dual meet beginning at 5 p.m. at Sunken Meadow State Park. If you can make the trip, come out and show your support for your friends and classmates while enjoying a crisp Fall afternoon. In the wise words of Coach Cole, “Go Flyers!”
An ADORE-able Freshman Experience
This Monday, October 2nd, freshman homeroom 1A will spend the day inside Saragossa retreat house as the first members of the class of 2021 to go on retreat. As always, students will not be required to wear their usual jacket-and-tie attire while they are on retreat, and the Courtyard Cafe will supply the hungry freshmen a free lunch for the day – what’s not to ADORE about that?

Freshman Parents Meet The Teachers
This past Tuesday, parents of members of the class of 2021 were given the opportunity to meet and converse with their sons’ new teachers. During this meet-and-greet, moms and dads discussed matters such as their son’s curriculum and the new block scheduling. Best of luck to all freshmen and their parents as they take off on their four-year journey through Chaminade!
Getting In The Spirit
Earlier this week, freshmen were introduced to the very vibrant and spiritual Mr. Foley during the Spirituality for Freshmen presentation in Darby Auditorium. Mr. Foley used the stories of some of Chaminade’s Gold Star alumni to exemplify the traits necessary to become a Chaminade Man. At the end of the talk, Mr. Foley generously distributed his highly-coveted Panera Bread coupons to several of the most active students at the presentation.
What’s Appening?
Junior Ryan O’Connor, an experienced app developer, was thrilled as the official Chaminade High School app was made available on Apple’s App Store on Wednesday. Ryan’s work has won the kudos of his fellow students, who have lauded the software as extremely well designed. This application is sure to catch the eyes of students, parents, and alumni, as it contains information on nearly everything Chaminade has to offer, from that day’s lunch menu all the way to a detailed virtual tour of our campus. The Chaminade High School app is available for download on the App Store today at this link.
