The Crimson & Gold, Chaminade’s award-winning yearbook, kicked off its annual ad drive on Tuesday, September 22, with a commercial spoofing The Wolf of Wall Street. It depicted the ad-selling “Wolf of Ad Street” Jordan Belfort, played by Peter Billovits ’16, raining ads down on the Chaminade hallways and telling of his adventures as a mogul in his business.
The ad drive’s mission is to motivate students to sell ads to fund the yearbook. This allows the Crimson & Gold to supply each student with a color-print yearbook chronicling their year at Chaminade free of charge.

Every year, the ad drive follows a theme. This year’s theme, “Soaring Higher,” reflects how the Flyers strive towards success, pushing themselves to be the best person they can be.
Ads are submitted online, and the information on how to do so can be found under the “Student Resources” tab on the school website (www.chaminade-hs.org). There are different categories of ads that are available for purchase ranging from a student patron ad, which lists the student’s name, to a half-page ad, which can include photographs. All students are encouraged to participate in the ad drive and show their support for the remarkable Crimson and Gold.
Coeditor-in-chief of Crimson and Gold Michael Navarrete ’16 and business editor Brandon Teixeira ’16 are leading and organizing this year’s efforts.

“I hope that with the continued support of the student body we will raise enough money to create an exceptional yearbook,” said Michael. “The Crimson and Gold, after all, captures and preserves memories that will last a lifetime.”
Receiving the Crimson & Gold every year is a Chaminade tradition, and with support from the ad-drive, the yearbook staff can produce a quality yearbook for every student to enjoy.
